Garage Knights Quotes

"On Tuesday, my husband was running around his office.  He was only sitting at his desk for one brief stretch of less than 10 minutes.  During that time, he overheard a crying co-worker talking to her boss.  She explained that she and her husband had both been out of work for almost a year before she had been hired as a supply room clerk.  Over the weekend, her family decided to take in a relative (and that relative’s family) who were struggling.  Her family had scraped together their last resources to buy a used car so that she could get to work.  Sunday she was rejoicing because she felt that she was back on the right path and was giving back.   On Monday someone hit her car and it was totaled.  Tuesday she was reeling, wondering why she was being punished.

On Wednesday morning, some of the guys from Garage Knights met for their regular weekly coffee break/bible study.  My husband told the guys about this co-workers plight.  They immediately decided to donate one of the Garage Knights cars to her, to replace the totaled car.  My husband told her when he got to work and her faith was restored.

Not only have we seen Garage Knights help the kids they mentor, we saw you restore someone’s faith in God and in humanity.   Keep up the good work!" ~Jen Dunsizer

"A prevalent issue in today’s school system is a limited access to acquiring a practical, mechanical skill set. This discourages students from exploring the fields of Technology and Engineering and also deprives them of learning how to safely and effectively manage their own mechanical property. This is why I am so grateful that I was able to become a part of Garage Knights. Now not only do I have the abilities and, most importantly, the confidence to be my own hired handy-(wo)man, but, thanks to Garage Knights, I discovered a love for working with my hands and creating solutions for physical problems. As a result of my experiences with Garage Knights, I decided to go on to study Astronautical Engineering at Purdue University and continue exploring my love of mechanics." -Rachel M.  Bodien
